We are seeking a Controls- / Automation Engineer (m/f /d) to join our team.

Traila is offering a unique opportunity to join a small team of elite engineers leading the way in developing active steering solutions for trams and trains. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Zürich, Switzerland, Traila concentrates on the development and industrialisation of advanced rail technology.
In the role of Controls-/ Automation Engineer, you will be working with a highly motivated cross-functional R&D team, consisting of mechanical, simulation and software engineers, in order to ensure the development of a cutting-edge technology, and building the company’s first industrially certified product.
Your responsibilities
- Work closely and in collaboration with the Control, Simulation and Electronic Engineers, developing specifications and the subsequent Software/Hardware control solution requirements
- Communicate with the test engineers to help support efficient testing requirements
- Communicate and coordinate with control HW & SW suppliers to specify and acquire quotes for commercial solutions required for the Traila system
- Support the integration and debug processes for the project, as required and on schedule
- Understand and execute all company standard operating procedures related to a safe machine design and build process.
- Field testing of the system and data evaluation
Qualifications
- Degree in electrical engineering, computer science or mechanical engineering (BEng / MEng)
- Experience in industrial automation using PLC’s for development of control systems
- Strong skills in MATLAB/Simulink and data analysis , other languages such as Python or C# are a plus.
- Knowledge in developing application for embedded systems using C/C++
- Ability to work across many different platform architectures and situations, including learning new programming languages and platforms when needed
- Interdisciplinary knowledge in electronics, software, mechanics
